Time for an Update

As you can see, I am slow with Blogging now. What might be the reason.... Maybe I have lots of secrets? Ha ha.... No, not me.
Busy... yes, and well this hasn't been a big priority. I do like to write here but there are times it is at the end of my list of things to do and I don't make it to the end of this list and then there are times I really think I should write.
Quite a bit has been going on. My mom-in-law just had heart surgery this week. It went well and I thank God for that. Thank you to those who prayed for her. I could see she was in a lot of pain yesterday. She will need prayers in the months to come. We will need to go over there and help out as much as we can.
Also, our nephew Johnny is finished chemo, for now anyway. I don't really know where things stand with his health now but he looked pretty good yesterday when I saw him. I think he is excited about the fact his hair is beginning to peek through again. He will be turning 13 next month, which will make it a year since his first seizure and then finding out he had a brain tumor.
On a different note... we started our ASL class. I am excited about it! I noticed that learning signs with song makes it easier to memorize the signs. I'm also trying to talk german to the kids more now so they will learn that as well. Who knows maybe knowing different languages will be something God will use in their life yet. I know I'm getting ahead of myself here , but next is spanish. :)
We had a good Christmas. A bit different this year but were blessed. I will post a few pictures of our events yet. Oh and then there was my birthday. I am 31 now!! (unreal) In many ways I still feel like a kid. lol. Honestly, I didn't have a very good day that day. Didn't feel very good and had a sick baby. Jamie really wanted it to be a good day for me and even baked a cake yet. That was very special and thoughtful. He even made me a card and he doesn't even like making cards.
There is my news broadcast :) If you made it to the end of it >consider yourself hugged.

Remembering Johnny

At this time our nephew is very sick in the hospital. His blood count is very low. He ended up having to stay in the hospital with a high fever and also had a seizure. We are all not allowed to see him right now. Please keep praying for God's hand in all of it.

Johnny is doing well at the time. He is on chemo and radiation now. So far he is doing okay with that. He cannot be at home yet but is often at the Ronald McDonald place near the hospital. We do not know how things will turn out in the long run, but just have to trust in God for all things. Johnny did tell me he has accepted Jesus as his savior so I just continue to pray for them.

Update on Johnny

Johnny did have his surgery on Thursday. The tumor was bleeding too much and they were only able to remove 20% of it. He still has bleeding in his head and they are draining the blood with a tube coming out of his head. He is not moving his right side at all so far. This could be because of the swelling in his head, noone is sure yet. Right now we just have to wait, noone knows the next step yet. That is the physical part of it.
Spiritually~ Parents really need prayer. May they see God for who he is.

Our nephew has a brain tumor!

A few weeks ago as 12 year old Johnny was getting ready to go with his parents to buy a birthday cake for him, he suddenly fell backwards and had a seizure. He was rushed to the hospital, but sent home shortly after being told he was fine.
His parents were not convinced that he was ok and he was different after that. One dr.decided to do a cat scan and found a tumor about the size of a golf ball near the memory part of his brain! He was again rushed to the hospital, put on medication and more test were done.
This was last Wednesday. Thursday morning it was decided that he could go home and come back after Easter. Surgery was set for Thursday.
By Sat. a day before Easter he got very sick, vomitting, headaches....and they took him back. he is still there on meds. and surgery will still be this coming Thursday as far as we all know now. It will be a long and risky surgery. They will only be able to remove part of the tumor by the sounds of things, and he will have kemo therapy yet.
Once they have removed it we will also find out if it is cancerous.
Please pray for Johnny. I will keep you all updated on his condition.
Thank you all!

Nancy
